Workshops

The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF) sponsors a variety of experiential and educational workshops designed to share information about the health benefits of music or to help music therapists further their education and training.

For Professionals

Led by the specialists at the IMNF or by guest speakers, the professional workshops qualify to meet continuing education requirements for certified music therapists and other health-care professionals. The workshops concentrate on new advances in music therapy as well as training for specific services that have been demonstrated to be effective for certain disorders.

Summer Workshops

The IMNF has announced the schedule for its Summer 2012 Workshops. Join us on Wednesday, July 18 thru Friday, July 20 at 612 Allerton Avenue, Bronx, NY.

CMTE Credits Available To Music Therapists

The IMNF is approved by the Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT) to award continuing Music Therapy Education Credits. Credits awarded by CBMT are accepted by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). The IMNF CBMT Approved Provider #P-120, maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria.

Registration and fees:

Non-refundable registration fee of $50 plus cost of session(s)
Sessions are $150 each (July 19 sessions are $75 each, full day = $150).
You may also register for the full workshop series (all 4 sessions, 24 credits) for the discounted price of $360.
Lunch is not included. Within walking distance of the venue, you will find a variety of places you can go to for lunch, or you may bring your own. Suggestions for local lodging will be provided upon request.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds less the non-refundable $50 registration fee will be issued upon written request. No refunds will be made after July 10, 2012.

For the Community

The IMNF invites the community to learn more about the health benefits of music therapy through sample sessions of group music therapy for wellness. Scheduled throughout the year, these workshops are developed to provide community members with the opportunity to experience general wellness benefits from music therapy.
