Music Therapy in the Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury
The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF) specializes in helping individuals with traumatic brain injury in improving their overall health and well-being through music therapy. Working with patients through CenterLight Health System and with private patients through The IMNF Music Therapy Professionals Practice, the IMNF helps patients regain some speech and motor capabilities that have been lost as the result of injury to the brain. The licensed music therapists use music to retrain the brain to learn important life skills. Music therapists can help individuals with traumatic brain injury improve muscle control, speech and cognition.
